Self Monitoring Daily Behavior

Objective:The students will record and analyze their daily behaviors in being a consumer of renewable and nonrenewable resources.

Materials:

  • Daily Behavior Worksheet

Procedure:

  1. Ask the students to think about how they use resources and products throughout their daily lives. Which ones are renewable? Which ones are nonrenewable?
  2. Pass out the Daily Behavior Worksheet and have the students complete it through a 24 hour period in their lives.
  3. Reconvene and discuss the worksheets. In what areas did the students use renewable and nonrenewable resources? Did they participate in any reduction, reuse, or recycling activities in their 24 hour period? How could the students change their behavior to be more environmentally friendly?
